2015 Team Preview: Windsor Selects 16u

Team Name: Windsor Selects 16u
Head Name: Don Morris
2015 Record: 48-12
League: Premier Baseball League of Ontario (PBLO)

Last Years Accomplishments:

  • Wolverine Buckeye Elite World Series Champions
  • Top 8 finish at Cincy Flames 17u World Series

Team Strengths: In typical Windsor style fashion, this will be a very big, athletic team with talent all over the diamond. Lots of team speed to combine with power in the middle of the order. A tough task for opposing teams to keep them off the scoreboard.

Weaknesses of Team: There will be young players up the middle of the diamond who still have to learn the nuances of the position, there age will show at times but the tools and talent will overcome the age and inexperience. Live arms on the pitching staff that are still learning the art and craft that comes along with being a pitcher.

Coach Outlook: Coach Morris has a young and exciting team with talent, speed, power and pitching. He expects them to be in the hunt for top spot in the 16u PBLO division.

Top Prospects in Class of 2018:

Notable College/MLB Alumni:

  • Joe Siddall (Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays Radio)
  • Evan Rutckyj (Atlanta Braves
  • Jake Lumley (Canisius University)
  • Noah Renaud (Indian Hills CC)
  • Matt Krutsch (Indian Hills CC)

General Notes: As we mentioned above, it always seems like Windsor produces big, strong, athletic type players. It looks no different with the 16u squad this year. Some exciting young players with Dean and Goldsmith, and chance for some young arms to flourish. They will score runs and steal bases, and should have as great as chance as any to battle for a PBLO championship at the 16u division.
