Ontario Insider: 2018 PBR ProCase - Five Thoughts

Ontario’s best talent was on the field last week for one of our favourite events of the year, the Procase. It was the first game action for many on the field and the performances did not disappoint with many players showing substantial development and growth. Below are five things that stood out from the event:

Denzel Clarke

Denzel Clarke OF / Everest Academy, ON / 2018

Report: The number three ranked player in Ontario’s 2018 class did not disappoint as the 6-foot-4, 210-pounds Clarke showcased his tools throughout the day. He had a very strong batting practice round showing a balanced swing with effortless bat speed. There was good separation in his swing with a defined hand load resulting in consistent barreled contact. The swing mechanics held over into the game where he remained very balanced and showed the ability to stay on breaking balls. The swing has really developed over the last eight months resulting in consistent hard contact and more power potential. His athleticism was on full display in the outfield making several in-game plays going back on the ball and covering ground with easy strides. His arm plays well in centre and possess the needed carry and zip to have an impact defensively. Clarke is the best athlete in the province and has progressed significantly on the field. He can impact the game in many different ways and has a bright future ahead of him.
