2018 Watch: Ontario Blue Jays Stacked 2019 Class

With all kinds of lists looking back at the year we just had, and in Ontario it was another fantastic year without a doubt. We hosted the 18u World Championships in Thunder Bay, Ontario, more high end draft picks and big time commitments, as well the first two wins for Ontario at the ever prestigious PBR Future Games in Indianapolis.

Heading into the 2018 season, there may not be a more talented team on paper than the Ontario Blue Jays perceived to be 17u team. Although rosters do not usually become finalized until after their fall trip and closer to May when the season begins here in Ontario, the 19’ class is full of tools and uncommitted talent. At least 6 players look to have Canadian Junior National Team experience to their resume, and that number could climb as we get into the new year.

In our 2019 rankings, 7 players out of the Top Ten hail from  OBJ and 13 out of the top 35. When you realize that they all may be on the same ball club, it makes for an exciting team to watch and scout.

We take a quick peek at some of the players to keep a close watch on in what looks to be a packed 2019 class for the Jays.

Blake Buckle C / 1B / Craig Kielburger, ON / 2019

Report: Buckle swings it from the left side with strength and some pull side power. Strong hands and wrists allow him to barrel up balls and when he is on time, its loud and hard off the bat. Buckle will catch and play first and is currently uncommitted.
