Mizuno Monday - Prospect of the Week

Report: Hill is a long and lean 2022 grad with plenty of room to add size and strength to his 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame. Hill has played first base and third base for his club team the Ontario Nationals but we can envision him moving into the hot corner as the arm and hands work well and the bat can profile there. We’ve always liked the setup and swing with Hill and he shows understanding of the strike zone with a solid approach with his pitch selection. He drives the ball with present gap power and will show some juice and leave the yard to his pull side. 

Future: The biggest gains for Hill are going to be in the weight room, as the actions on both sides of the ball play, and once he adds strength we can see him taking the next step in his development. Hill profiles as someone who has the opportunity to make an impact with the bat from the right side while being athletic enough to play corner infield and can assume left-field being an option as well at the next level to get his bat into the lineup. A solid ‘22 grad who is going to continue to make jumps here in Ontario, 2021 will be a big year for Hill and we expect him to be up for the challenge.
