New Year Open Preview: Ryan Leitch

Ryan Leitch C / 3B / Sinclair, ON / 2019

Team: Toronto Mets

Background: Leitch is a 2019 grad and has some of the biggest raw power in his class. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed hitting catcher has impressive bat speed for his age and it shows with an exit velocity of 94 mph. Leitch has always been one of the more advanced hitters throughout the past few years, with his ability to drive the ball gap to gap with real power potential that will play to right-centre. The tools are there with the bat, while the big factor will be if he can stay behind the plate at the next level. There is arm strength with carry from the crouch while being able to stay agile and flexible will be the big factor for Leitch as he continues to mature and add muscle to his frame.
