Ontario Insider: Top 2018 Uncommitted Catching Prospects

With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position. Over the past month we looked at the top 2017 prospects and as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.

Today we are starting with the top uncommitted underclass catching prospects in Ontario. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week and as you can see by our 2018 and 2019 Player Rankings, there are numerous talented prospects available.

Name: Noah Naylor
Rank: 1st in Ontario’s Class of 2018 / 10th overall in PBR 2018 Class
Scouting Report: Naylor looks to be following along in his older brother Josh’s footsteps. The 6-foot-1,190-pound catcher is the top uncommitted player in the country as the left-handed bat of Naylor is advanced with the ability to hit and hit with power. Strong and athletic, Naylor has above average arm strength with a quick release. He runs well, sub 7.00 in the 60 and has a knack for the game with strong baseball IQ.
College Outlook: With the opportunity of Naylor being a high pick in the 2018 MLB draft, the big question is will he event step foot on campus? If he does, Naylor will be in the lineup as a freshman, the big question will be if he sees time early on behind the plate as the athleticism allows him to play third base or second base at an elite level.
