Ontario Insider: Top Underclass Uncommitted Two-Way Prospects

With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position. Over the past month we looked at the top 2017 prospects and as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.

Today we are starting with the top uncommitted underclass two-way prospects in Ontario. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week and as you can see by our 2018 and 2019 Player Rankings, there are numerous talented prospects available.

Dylan Whittaker, RHP/SS, Oakville Trafalgar
Ranked: 16th in Ontario’s Class of 2018
Scouting Report: Athletic two-way player listed at 5-foot-10, 148-pounds. Lots of room to add size and strength. Arm is quick on the mound, works from ¾ arm slot, easy delivery, fastball works in low 80’s to compliment one of the best curveballs in his class, throws it hard with tight rotation and 12/6 downward shape. At the plate, quiet actions, line drive type guy who will benefit from added strength gains. Plays a solid shortstop, confident with glove and arm has plenty carry across the diamond.
College Outlook: Will be interesting to see as he matures and gets bigger. Really like how the arm works and his ability to throw the curveball and be a strikeout pitch. All the actions are there, just a matter of becoming stronger.
