Ontario Insider: Toronto Elite Prospect Showcase: Top-Tier Performers

By Chris Kemlo and PBR Staff
Ontario Scouting Director

We take a look at five players who had good days this past weekend at the Toronto Elite Prospect Showcase. These players will garner attention for Top Prospect Games and potentially Future Games consideration as well. Lots of different grad classes, but they all have one thing in common, and that is tools.

Visit our scout blog, which includes velocity, pop times and in-depth scouting reports. The blog will be updated throughout the entire spring, with information on top prospects and top performances, click here.

Ontario Insider: Toronto Elite Prospect Showcase: Top-Tier Performers

Darren Dwyer, RHP, 2016
Report: Dwyer is a big physical two-way player at 6-foot-1, 193-pounds. On the mound, Dwyer was up to 86 mpg, and we have had him up to 87 mph to go along with good feel and command of his breaking stuff. At the plate, the switch hitter showed pop from both sides, using lift to his swing and finish to get the ball in the air. Right side is a little more raw, timing and balance will be big for Dwyer. Good looking player who will be a strong college athlete.
