Ontario Insider: Uncommitted Class of 2018 Infielders You Need To Know
The five infielders below all have the tools and what it takes to play at the next level. A switch-hitter with power, and two hitters from each side of the plate, these uncommitted seniors should not be on the board for that much longer as they all portray the ability to contribute and either be impact, or important role players at the collegiate level.

David McCabe 3B / Everest Academy, ON / 2018Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Team: Team Ontario AstrosWho Is He: McCabe is a switch-hitting infielder who plays third base for his club team but will also see time across the corner at first. Big frame at 6-foot-4, 215-pounds and room to add strength. Swings it from both sides of the plate with power potential from each side, shows feel to hit and will spray ball across the field and give you quality at-bats with plate discipline while hitting in the middle of a lineup. Hands are smooth defensively with proper actions, arm plays from left side and is above average for first baseman. Bat is biggest tool and with his size and ability to switch hit, could do some real damage offensively when he gets a BBCOR in his hands. |
