Ontario Insider: Uncommitted Underclass Spotlight - Leo Markotic, SS

Name: Leo Markotic
Position: Shortstop
High School: St.Martins High School
Height/Weight: 5-foot-11, 168 pounds
Grad Year: 2018
Club Team: Toronto Mets

Scouting Report: Markotic is a middle infielder who also has seen some time playing the hot corner at third base as well. The 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter has current strength to his frame at 168-pounds, and is on display when he swings the bat. The bat head gets through the zone with quickness in his hands, exit velocity has been up to 86 mph. Projects as a line drive guy right now with gap to gap power. Does not get cheated at the plate and can turn on good fastballs. Defensively, Markotic shows good instincts to go along with his hands and feet. Moves well and is light on his feet, athletic actions and not afraid to get dirty. Dirtbag type player who plays the game hard and the right way.
