Ontario Insider: Unsigned Prospect Snapshots

Name: Kyle Bryan
Grad: 2017
Position: C/1B
Height/Weight: 6-foot-4, 187-pounds
Rank: 29th in Ontario’s Class of 2017
Background: Bryan is a right-handed hitter who exhibits more of a power bat in the 2017 class. Physically Bryan is long and lean, very projectable body to make strength gains. Runs the 60-yard dash around 7.80 with regular effort. Biggest asset he brings is the bat. Strong hands with bat speed, had an exit velocity of 88 mph which has only gotten better over the summer. He keeps a simple approach in the box, not a lot of movement, small leg kick to load while hands work back, natural lift to swing with upright finish, involves lower half, has a looseness and rhythm to his swing, more power currently to his pull side. Behind the plate, hands work, needs to fine tune his footwork and increase arm strength, moves well and shows agility for his size. Also can see time at first base, fits profile with height and hands. Bat will evidently be Bryan’s key to success in his senior year while being able to have a solid winter and improve defensively.
