Ontario Top Ten Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles - #2 Landon Leach

Landon Leach#2 Landon Leach, RHP, Pickering HS, 2017 (Texas commit)
Background: Leach is the #2 prospect in the 2017 class in Ontario, and is ranked 21st overall in PBR’s 2017 Overall Rankings. The physical 6-foot-4, 205-pound has strength in lower half, arm works from ¾ slot with arm speed and strength. Repeats delivery well, becomes more comfortable every outing, fastball at best when he is on top and creating angles, been up to 94 mph, believe there is more in the arm from velocity side, could see him mid-90s this spring and summer. Slider can be put away pitch, low-80s with tilt and late action, when he has command of both pitches he makes quick work of hitters.

Overview: The Texas commit is a highly regarded prospect for the 2017 MLB draft this upcoming June. Eyes will be on Leach early and often as he begins his year with the Junior National Team in Florida late March. He will then pitch with his club team the Toronto Mets in CPBL league play which will take him right up to June and the draft. If Leach can build off of 2016, the righty has a chance to be the top Canadian selected in this year's draft.
