With things starting to settle down from the fall, the players and team’s start to begin their off-season workouts, we take a look at some uncommitted seniors who look to make improvements to their game and come out strong in 2015. Whether it be velocity, adding another pitch, getting quicker and stronger, or trying to fine tune some mechanical adjustments, as baseball players we all have to keep improving every single day. Below are some players who look to have strong starts to the 2015 campaign.
RJ Freure, RHP, 2015, Ontario Blue Jays
Freure is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound right whose fastball has been up to 90 mph on occasion. The ace on the Ontario Blue Jays staff had a strong summer and continued his success into the fall, throwing well at Oklahoma State University as well as in Jupiter. Freure uses a three-pitch mix, with a curveball that shows good shape at 11/5 and shows a good feel for. Changeup has good deception as he maintains his arm speed. Freure has flashed the high 80’s and 90 mph fastball at times but also can be 84-86 mph. With his command and three-pitch mix, being able to hold his high velocity throughout games is something schools will take notice of as Freure has shown he has the ability to pitch and get outs.
