Tyson Gomm C / 2B / Port Credit, ON / 2021

Background:
Gomm, a left-handed hitter who is currently the #1 ranked Catching prospect in Ontario’s 2021 class is an uncommitted bat with lots of upside. 5-foot-11, 173-pound, athletic build with room to grow and add strength. Swing is clean, under control, uses an open, tall batting stance to get clear vision and momentum towards the ball. Separates hands from front-side well and creates torque for gap-to-gap power. Primarily a Catcher, Gomm has shown an ability to play Second Base at an elite level. His actions behind the plate are quick and explosive, which allows him to control the running game, with his 2.00 pop time as his arm strength continues to develop. Standout player at Tournament 12 this year, coming away with the tournament MVP belt, after a week where he hit .625, with two ringing doubles to right-centre against some of the country’s best arms. Gomm really took off this summer and performed on big national stages with T12 and the PBR Future Games in Georgia.
