Background: 5-foot-6, 140-pound, athletic infielder, Carinci is a solid player who has had a strong spring so far. Defensively, Carinci is steady; he moves well, goes after balls with intent and covers ground. His glove actions are sound, and he uses a short throwing motion with a quick release to get throws across. His arm slot is adjustable, allowing him to make plays from different locations on the dirt. He hovers around 7.00 running the 60 yard-dash, and uses his legs and 79 mph throwing velocity effectively in the infield. His best tool is his bat, Carinci has a knack for making hard contact, and will do so to the middle-pull-side of the field. Due to quickness in his body movements, he generates bat speed, and has shown the ability to drive the ball as a result. He displays body control, allowing him to be mechanically sound at the plate.

Outlook: Carinci has done nothing but perform in-game on a consistent basis, and a minimal viewing doesn't do him justice. He has the quickness and bat speed to catch up to velocity, with the strength and bat control to lay off breaking pitches. He often puts together good at-bats. Carinci should adjust well to improved pitching, and has the potential to contribute offensively at the next level. He could be used on both sides of second-base in college, his movements to his back-hand and short quick release profile well at second, along with his bat. Carinci is an exciting, hard-nosed player who would be a good get for a school.
