PBR Staff

2024 PROSPECTS

2024 RHP Nathan Corrillo (N/A, AZ)
Had a solid outing early for Team Dinger 2023. From a tall projectable body with long limbs, Corrillo sat 75-76 T78mph. Physically immature with a ton of room to fill out as he gets older. He shows the ability to pound down in zone when he gets into his back leg and uses good direction coming down the mound in his delivery. Off-speed is very limited at this time. This young kid should be followed over the next few years.

2024 LHP Jack Perotti (Legends, CO)
Turned in an impressive performance for USA prime. The LHP throws 3 pitches for a strike strike with his FB works at 74-75 through 4IP. Showcases variable deliveries and commands the strike zone at the same time. Ceiling will only get higher as he gets stronger.

2024 Brendan Burke (AZ T-Rex)
Turned in one of the better 2-way performances of the event so far. On the mound, Burke showcased his arm strength, running the FB up to 72. The delivery is inconsistent at times. At the plate he shows an advanced ability to drive balls, and even has some power potential as evident by the 2B hit to the wall in LF

2023 PROSPECTS

2023 C Zachary Justice (Bishop O’Dowd HS, CA)
Has been a clear defensive standout for Trosky National. Moves well side to side, blocks well, steals strikes and sticks pitches. Fires out of the chute, directional footwork, above-average arm strength with pop times that ranged between 2.12-2.20.

2023 SS Garren Rizzo (Palos Verde HS, CA)
Through two games, has consistently delivered results - collecting hits, scoring runs and making plays at shortstop hitting in the leadoff spot for Trosky National. Has a clear plan in the box, middle-out approach without much swing/miss, as he showed with another hit back up the box to start the game. Seemingly on base all the time and scores run. Plays the game hard and under control. All-around baller on the field.

2023 RHP Will Shelor (Hamilton HS, AZ)
Got the start for TCA Black against MVP Hustle and flashed arm strength on the mound. Topped out at 82 mph, working mostly 78-81 with his fastball. Short, compact arm swing coming out of a high-3/4 window. A primary outfielder, Shelor has strength throughout 5-9/160 frame. With more refinement in his delivery, he should see more velocity gains in the future.

2023 SS Frank Estrada (Kaiser HS, CA)
Stands out with his loose, easy, natural infield actions and athletic arm in the field for MVP Hustle. Similarly in the box, he showcased loose, whippy hands that generates more bat speed than his young, thin 5-foot-11, 145-pound frame would indicate. Stands in the box with moxie, and looks to get his swing off early. As he physically develops, Estrada shows potential of being a high-follow prospect in the 2023 class.

2023 LHP Zach Wadas (Brophy College Prep, AZ)
Was a stand out player offensively for Trosky National on Day 1. He has continued to show skills at the plate. On Day 2, Zach showed that he is also an athletic LHP that controls his energy well. His FB sat 79-80 MPH. Creates explosiveness in his delivery coming down the mound. He located 3 pitches for strikes early with above average feel for his CV and Changeup before spotty command late. He also flashed the ability to tunnel his pitches. Should be a high follow the next several years.

2023 RHP Grant Govel (Palos Verdes, CA)
Came in first relief for Trosky Baseball that might have been one of the more intriguing arms of the day. From a large athletic build, Govel sat 81-83mph with hard 2 seam action. Delivery seemed more natural and easy than any other pitcher on the day. His 12/6 CV has a chance to be an above average pitch if thrown with same conviction as FB. Lower half stays closed nicely throughout delivery.

2023 RHP Linden Reaburn (Casteel, AZ)
Might have arguably had one the best performances of the day for AZBC. Facing a loaded Trosky team, Reaburn struck-out 11 batters while not allowing a run & only walking 2 batters. Reaburn displays a power arm from a large more physical build. FB sat 80-83MPH throughout night. Creates intent with every throw. He wasn't afraid to attack hitters inside. CV shows chance to be a swing & miss pitch. Was also able to command off-speed. He also showed an aggressive demeanor which was appreciated. He was also a standout in the PBR Junior Future Games in GA this past summer.

2023 Landon Penney (Brophy College Prep, AZ)
Had one of the more aggressive approaches that we saw at Red Mountain. He had a solid approach and didnt get cheated. He also had one of the more physical bodies and level of strength we saw in the grad class. He consistently barreled the ball up all day. He his from a semi wide base with a closed off upper body, loading into an arm bar. He pitched in game 1 struggling early but bouncing back and settling in with short arm action.

2023 C Tanner Nelson (Saguaro, AZ)
Had a good first game for the Scottsdale Dirtbags and looks the part going forward. He has an athletic build that looks ready to add more strength. Saw him barrel up some balls throughout the day from a medium athletic base and simple trigger. Saw him get a little long in the 2nd game at times. He also shows the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Defensively, with more technique he shows the ability to become a solid defensive catcher. He has good flexibility in legs, receiving skills and has a solid arm to work with. His athleticism behind the plate makes him an interesting catcher to follow.

2023 3B Brayden Tambone (Perry, AZ)
Was another player from the Scottsdale Dirtbags that stood out today. He consistently barreled the ball up. Has power potential to LF from his physical frame. Defensively, he showed a good glove and lateral movement. Good arm with carries on his throws across the diamond. Good stick to follow down the road.

2022 PROSPECTS

2022 3B Adrian Gallegos (Etiwanda HS, CA)
wide-shouldered 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed hitting infielder who showed some arm strength and a balanced, aggressive swing in the box for MVP Hustle.

2022 RHP Jacob Connelly (Sunrise Mountain, AZ)
Was one the biggest players we saw on the field in Day 2. Sporting an XL durable frame, Connelly gets down the mound and has more athleticism than one would think for size. He has tight hips but seemed to know how his body worked through his delivery. Connelly's fastball sat 77-79MPH and was bulldog throwing a 110 pitch complete game for the AZ Athletics 2022 orange.

2021 PROSPECTS

2021 RHP Issac Horstman (Sandra Prep, NM)
Came out of the pen throwing darts at 81-84, T85 with ASR for MAC Elite. A physically imposing prospect at 6-foot-5, Horstman has wide shoulders and a frame that looks like it could sustain another 30 pounds. Showed feel for his CB at 68. Tends to stab on the backside with his arm action but his body works to quickly get back on time.

2021 1B Blake Avila (Yuma Catholic, AZ)
Showed the ability to hit at a high level today. The 5-foot-10, 160-pound prospect is on time with everything offensively. Shows an advance ability to handle secondary offerings, and handle velocity. Put together numerous good at bats for the Arizona Athletics.

2021 Nicholas Lustig (Sunrise Mtn, AZ)
Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 140-pound right-handed pitcher. The RHP ran his FB up to 83 in his complete game, 8k performance for the AZ Athletics. The quick twitch athlete, does a great job of getting the most out of his body. Showed the ability to sustain velocity late into the game. Even posting multiple 82’s in the 7th inning.

2020 PROSPECTS

2020 1B Elijah Rejto (Canyon Crest Acad, CA)
Tall, lean 6-foot-4, 190-pound left-handed hitter. The Solana Beach Redbirds product works hard to get the barrel to balls consistently. Athleticism will need to improve to reach power potential, but swing is simple to help accelerate his development.

2020 UTL Ryan Callanan (Riverside Poly, CA)
really good athlete. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Elite National Team product showed well both on the mound and at shortstop. At this stage in his development, Callanan looks more ready to play at the next level as a middle infielder. His footwork at SS is quick, and he moves well around the bag
