Top-10 Profiles of 2021: No. 10, Ely Kennel
December 23, 2021
As we approach the end of 2021, we're taking account of the PBR Oregon player profile pages to determine the players in our backyard whose profiles earned the most attention throughout the year. We're counting down the top-10 profiles in the state that received the most views, from 10 and on, concluding our countdown on New Year's Day by revealing the most-viewed profile of the year.
Kicking things off on our way down to the most viewed profile this year is UTL Ely Kennel (Santiam Christian). Kennel made his PBR event debut at the Upperclass Northwest Preseason Invite this past February, showcasing a loud array of tools across the board. Built at a chiseled 5-foot-11, 190-pounds, Kennel ran a 6.54 60-yard dash and translated that quick-twitch athleticism into the batter’s box, posting noteworthy hand and bat speed metrics throughout BP. His 99.4 mph max exit velocity and 345 ft. peak batted distance on that day were amongst the event’s best, while he also displayed some up-the-middle feel during his infield workout.
Kennel was a spark for the Royals’ team at this year’s Area Code games, kicking one of the day’s off with a deep blast to right-center. Committed to Oregon State, his elite level athleticism offers a noteworthy future ceiling in its own right - and one that could shine once he’s further refined in Corvallis.
