District 5 Player of the Year: OF/RHP Tony Strasiser

StrasiserPBR's District V Player of the Year is North Star's Tony Strasiser. On a Cougars squad that hit .360 as a unit, the West Virginia-bound OF/RHP separated himself from the pack with a mind-blowing .625 AVG, 47 R, 18 XBH, 41 RBI, .730 OBP, 1.188 SLG and 26 SB. For good measure, Strasiser even chipped in 20 IP on the bump, accumulating a 5-0 record with a 1.05 ERA, 6 H, 11 BB and 40 K.

The 6-foot-6, 180-pounder helped lead North Star to a 21-0 record through the regular season and District V tournament, with their only loss coming in the first round of the PIAA tournament. The district title (and accompanying PIAA berth) was the school's second straight, as it reached the class AA semifinals in 2012 before reclassifying to class A this spring.
