The Conestoga Pioneers entered Wednesday's Central League match-up with Strath Haven riding a six game win streak to open the 2015 campaign. The 2014 PIAA Class AAAA runners-up fell behind early 1-0, but were able to rally to stay undefeated behind solid pitching and timely hitting.

Junior right-handed pitcher Tim Miller went five strong innings allowing one run on five hits for the win before giving way to Ryne Ogren who slammed the door for the save. Ogren, who will be attending Elon as a shortstop, faced the minimum over the final two innings while striking out six.

Strath Haven took an early 1-0 lead when starting pitcher Ashton Raines aided his own cause with a two out double to plate James Kantner who had singled and stole second. Raines matched Miller pitch for pitch through the first three innings until a bases loaded, two-out infield single by Jonah Siegel knotted the game at one in the bottom of the fourth. Miller followed with a line drive to right-center field on the very next pitch to plate two runs to cap the game's scoring.

Raines was the hard-luck loser allowing three unearned runs on six hits with four strikeouts. Tom Fogarty was the only Pioneer to register multiple hits going 2-for-3 with a run scored on the afternoon. Kantner led the Strath Haven offense with a 2-for-4 afternoon and scored the Panthers only run.

Conestoga returns to action today with a home game against Marple Newtown. Strath Haven will be at home today in a game with Upper Darby.
