On Deck Preview: PA State Games '25 3B/OF Tommy Kratz (Methacton)

The athletically built corner infielder has a lot to like. Good runner, has body awareness as well as a quick trigger with barrel control.

Tommy passes the eye test with a physical look and athletic movements in almost all aspects of his game. In the box he hovers in the low 90s exit velocity, but what is impressive is his quick trigger. When loaded and ready to unleash the quick first movement towards the baseball allows him to get to tough pitches that are on the inner half. 

Defensively he has the ability to move around positionally, a primary 3B he works around the baseball never stopping his feet, working towards his target. His hands work through the baseball into his transfer allowing for not much wasted time and movements. 

This preseason Kratz saw himself rise up the rankings as he set himself apart from many other 3B in his class. As he finishes up his high school season and makes his way to Dubois, PA for Session 2 of the PA State Games.
