The inaugural Pennsylvania Travel Baseball State Championships are scheduled for August 19-21 at the Iron Horse Sports Complex in Windber. 10 teams from Pennsylvania, New York and Maryland, along with two teams organized by PBR, will participate. Two games will be played concurrently on neighboring fields in six time slots on the first two days of the event, with an abbreviated schedule on the final day. Seneca Valley 2017 IF/RHP Tyler Smith has added ten pounds to his frame over the past nine months, which has contributed to jumps in his exit velocity and arm strength. The right-handed hitter runs a 7.0-7.1 60-yard dash and has shown quality defensive actions. On the mound, he features a low- to mid-80s fastball and solid curveball.

West Allegheny 2020 outfielder Austin Hendrick is an athletic left-handed hitter with good raw power.

Seneca Valley 2017 catcher Michael Collins is a switch-hitter with solid catch-and-throw skills.

Serra Catholic 2018 IF/RHP Nathan Piontka boasts a low-80s FB and 92 mph exit velocity.

Hempfield Area 2018 3B/RHP Braden Brose is a physical 6-foot-4, 225-pound right-handed hitter with good raw power (90 mph exit velocity) and solid wheels for his size (7.06 60-yard dash).

College commitments include toolsy Penn-Trafford 2018 catcher Josh Spiegel to Oklahoma State and slugging Penn-Trafford 2018 corner infielder Zach Mancz to Pittsburgh.
