Potential Pennsylvania prospects to attend Super 60 Showcase

11th annual Super 60 Showcase will be Pennsylvania’s first:

The 10th annual Super 60 Showcase on Sunday February 5, 2012 had possibly the best assemblage of talent, from top to bottom of all-time since Prep Baseball Report began hosting the event in 2003.

Players from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa showed what they could do in front of a packed house of pro scouts. And what they did was mighty impressive.

Looking to next year, Prep Baseball Report looks at some early candidates to represent Pennsylvania at the 2013 event:

Brendan  McKay P/OF, Blackhawk HS, Class of 2014
Listed in some national rankings as one of the 50 best in his class in the country, the sophomore led Blackhawk with a 6-0 record and 0.80 ERA as a freshman in 2011.  The lefty commands a fastball that sits in the 86-87 mph range, and possesses a devastating curveball for a player his age.

Jextin Pugh, P/1B, Bishop Guilfoyle HS, Class of 2013
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound, RHP is ranked as one of the top 5 players in Pennsylvania’s 2013 class. Pugh’s fastball sits in the 84-85 mph range, and the lefty sticky batted .560 as a sophomore.

Brett Hileman, 3B/RHP, Hollidaysburg HS, Class of 2013
The 6-foot-0, 190-pound Hileman has a fastball that touches 90.  Hileman and Pugh have been jockeying for the pride of being the top recruit in Pennsylvania next year.  Both are members of the Flood City Elite program.

This is just a sampling of the some of the top players in Pennsylvania. It will be enjoyable to traverse the state over the next ten months looking for players who deserve an invitation to Prep Baseball Report’s top event.
