Pine Richland OF Shea Sullivan Headed to Eastern Kentucky

Shea SullivanShea Sullivan is spending his winter on the basketball court, but come spring he will put the basketball away one last time to concentrate on his senior season of high school baseball and beyond. Sullivan is a 6-foot, 180-pound outfielder who has a strong arm, 84 mph from his position, and runs a 6.94 60-yard dash. He is ranked No. 92 in the PA Class of 2013.

Sullivan has signed to play his college baseball at Eastern Kentucky University. According to Sullivan, "I had been looking at Butler, Temple, Cincinnati, South Carolina Upstate and Slippery Rock, but I really liked the coaches at Eastern Kentucky and want to be a part of their winning program."

Sullivan played his summer baseball with the Pittsburgh Spikes, led by La Roche College coach Chase Rowe. The Eastern Kentucky coaching staff first saw Sullivan play when the Spikes played at the Midwest Classic in Joliet, Illinois last summer. "After the tournament, they called me and asked me to come to their camp in the fall. After the camp they offered me.", Sullivan explained.

Sullivan feels that his foot speed and base running abilities along with his ability to hit with two strikes will serve him well in college. "The coaching staff expects me to work as hard as I can to help the team in any way I can as a freshman."

Sullivan has one more item on the agenda before donning a Colonel uniform for the first time. "I want to help lead Pine Richland to a WPIAL Championship."
