Preseason Preview: Bishop McCort Crushers (District 6)

By Greg Williams
PA Director of Scouting

It will be difficult for the Bishop McCort Crushers to top what they accomplished in 2012, but to equal that success would be a great goal. The Crushers are coming off a 24-2 campaign in 2012 in which they finished as the runners-up to Somerset in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference, won a District 6 championship and capped the season with a PIAA Class A State Championship. The Crushers return six starters and three pitchers from that roster to aid them in their attempt to claim a 2nd consecutive state championship.

Luke WilliamsCoach Chris Pfeil feels as though his team's overall speed, pitching depth and playoff experience will be strengths heading into the new season. With only two seniors on the roster, the Crushers could be looking at several years of deep post season runs in a row. Following is a look at those on the roster likely to make major contributions in Bishop McCort's success in 2013.

Class of 2013:

  • 1B Luke Williams - 6'3", 215-pound prospect that has committed to Pitt-Johnstown.
