Updated PAISAA Fab Four (5-3-15)

By Jacob Gill
Philadelphia Region Director of Scouting

Our second in-season update of the PAISAA Fab Four (i.e. the four teams we believe would reach the PAISAA semifinals, if the tournament started today) has an all-Inter-Ac flavor. The top three teams have created some separation for themselves in that league, while the fourth spot below was ultimately decided by a non-league, double-header sweep.

2015 PAISAA Fab Four (records as of 5/3/15)
Seed School (Previous Seed)
Record Notes
1 Malvern Prep (4)
21-5
Went 8-0 since last update. The preseason favorite and current Inter-Ac leader is back in the top spot following a 12-game unbeaten streak, including wins over each of the other five Inter-Ac members.
4 Penn Charter (NR)
12-9
Went 4-3 since last update. The Quakers have a lot left to prove before they can be considered a title contender, but a DH sweep of Perkiomen School slots PC here over the Panthers.

3 The Haverford School (3)
20-3
Went 7-1 since last update, with only loss 7-6 to Malvern Prep. Currently in third place, one game behind the Friars in the Inter-Ac. Lost to Springside Chestnut Hill in only head-to-head meeting so far this year.
2 Springside Chestnut Hill (1)
12-7
Went 2-2 since last update, including 10-2 loss to Malvern Prep. Currently in second place, one half game behind the Friars in the Inter-Ac. Rematch vs The Haverford School this week.

Dropped out
Perkiomen School (11-3) - Went 5-2 since last update, but those two losses were the DH sweep at the hands of Penn Charter. Same thing happened last year, but the Panthers bounced back to knock off the Quakers in the PAISAA semis. Will history repeat itself this month?

Other Contenders
Perkiomen School, Mercersburg Academy, Episcopal Academy
