2019 Scout Day: Gem City Throwbacks - Sneak Peek

The Arms

Nate Ziegler RHP / 3B / Centerville, OH / 2020

Body Type: 6-foot 175-pound prospect with a medium build.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot and has a choppy rhythm to his delivery which helps create some deception.
Fastball: 72-75 mph, T77. The fastball showed some arm side run at times.
Slider: The 63-66 mph breaking ball showed slider spin and shape. It had loose spin but still showed some potential.
Changeup: 67-70 mph changeup that had a tumbling downward action with fade at times.
Pitchability: 3 pitch mix with both secondary offerings being in a more developmental stage. Still showed good feel and command for all 3.
Role: No clear role at the present moment but with development of the slider into a sharper tighter pitch the bullpen would be the logical direction to head.
