Charlotte Christian Stays Hot, Wins 8-0

PBR was on hand as the #3 ranked Charlotte Christian Knights hosted Wesleyan Christian in a rematch of last year's NCISAA State Championship series on Saturday April 2nd. The Knights came in with a record of 13-2, with Wesleyan Christian at 8-3. 

Charlotte Christian would threaten in the bottom of the first getting their first two batters on but Wesleyan Christian starter Sam Cozart would shut down the threat getting a fly ball and ground out to keep zeros on the board. Wesleyan Christian was able to get runners on in the 1st and 2nd but could not score against Knights starter Calvert Clark. 

The Knights would break through in the 2nd scoring runs on singles by Kevin Habluetzel and Judd Utermark for the 3-0 lead. Charlotte Christian would add another in the 3rd on a double by Everette Harris. The Knights would add on again in the 5th and 6th innings cruising to an 8-0 win. Clark and Harris combined for the shutout allowing 5 hits and striking out 6.
