College Crosscheck: Campbell & WI-Milwaukee Scout Days

Buies Creek, NC-  On Tuesday October 16th the Campbell Camels took the field in their annual scout day, allowing their draft eligible players to showcase in front of area pro scouts.  A large scouting contingent was on hand as the Camels are coming off a Big South championship and a trip to the Athens, GA Regional.  They also have reigning Cape Cod League  MVP and Batting Champion, R-JR outfielder Matthew Barefoot.

The Campbell staff has found a niche with Junior College players and they have 21 total transfers on their roster.  The scout day consisted of 27 draft eligible players being highlighted throughout the workout.  Position players ran a 60 and took an extended infield/outfield, followed by several rounds of BP.  Pitchers threw live to hitters in a controlled scrimmage.  Each arm faced 4 hitters before the inning was flipped.  The Camels and head coach Justin Haire have several intriguing pieces that could make them a team to follow entering 2019.
