The 2019 PBR Future Games brought together more than 500 of the top uncommitted underclassmen in the country to compete in front of a record 300-plus college coaches over the course of four days at Lakepoint in Georgia. With the event wrapped up, National Crosschecker, Shooter Hunt, takes a look at some of the top position, pitchers and sleepers. This week, On the Hunt highlights 20 of the top 2021 pitchers.

Chase Petty RHP / SS / Mainland, NJ / 2021

Petty was the most electric arm to come out of the Future Games delivering heavy fastballs up to 94mph from a low ¾ slot. Aggressive towards the plate with a loose, whippy arm stroke, he pounded the zone with arm side life that bore in on right-handed hitters, sawing off metal bats that would have exploded had they been wood. His lower strikeout total (four) was not indicative of the “stuff” as batters were in a rush to get out of the box before having to deal with a firm (80-83) slider with tilt that tunneled the fastball, and was a swing and miss offering. He also flashed feel for a 82-84 changeup that gives him a true three-pitch mix moving forward. The wiry-athletic, 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-hander has plenty of room to continue packing on strength in the future, and has clearly cemented himself as an arm to know in the class.
