News and Notes From Around the Country

Matt Huck
Midwest Area Scout/JUCO Wire Editor

The JUCO Wire is a new weekly feature that will continue to build on the Prep Baseball Report’s unparalleled coverage of amateur baseball across the country. The JUCO Wire will provide updated information on junior college transfers, players moving on, who’s hot, and any other relevant news from around the country.

The JUCO Wire is a compilation of boots-and-the-ground scouting, information collected from our state-specific scouting staff, outside submissions, and any other news and nuggets gleaned throughout the year.

  • PBR Florida Scouting Director Doug Freeman was in attendance last weekend for the FCSAA Sophomore Showcase. He did an in depth look at the top 10 players at the event with other top performers.

  • Eastern Florida State RHP Tyler Keysor continues to show why he is the top prospect in the Florida Junior College ranks. Keysor shows a feel to pitch, with the fastball working 91-93 mph with much more in the tank. He also showed a feel for a downer slider at 75-78 mph and a changeup at 80-82 mph.
