As November comes to a close we take one final look at the roster from our final event of the year: the Maryland Fall Invitational at Mount St. Mary's University. We continue today with a full analysis of the pitchers from the event. 

 

MARYLAND FALL INVITATIONAL PITCHERS (LISTED ALPHABETICALLY)

Joseph Carpenter IV RHP/OF Caesar Rodney (DE) 2020
Athletic body type and 5-foot-8, 155 pound frame. Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick into a nice balance position. Clean hand separation and smooth delivery with some lower half drive. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarters arm slot with easy effort. Lands square to the plate with and athletic finish. Fastball sat 67-73 mph and change-up was 63-65 mph with slight fade. Breaking ball showed tight spin and big 11/5 shape at 60-62 mph.

Matt Cunningham RHP/SS Linganore 2021
Long, lanky, athletic body type and projectable 6-foot-2, 155 pound frame. Pitched from the stretch with a high leg kick into a tall balance point. Clean hand separation and a slight pause early in delivery. Smooth down to out lower half drive. Lands slightly closed to home plate with an athletic finish. Throws with long, whippy arm action and creates quick arm speed through release. Pitches with easy effort from a high three-quarters slot. Showed good command of three pitches. Fastball sat 77-78 mph. Breaking ball had tight spin and showed big sharp 11/5 shape at 62-69 mph. Change-up was 66-72 mph with slight dive.
