NC Insider: NC Players and the PBR Draft 100

By Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

On Thursday, Nathan Rode, PBR’s National Supervisor, released his first version of the PBR Draft 100, listing the top 100 players in the 2018 class, from across the country.  The list differs from the class of 2018 Overall Rankings as the rankings cover the entire PBR territory and the PBR Draft 100 is a comprehensive national list.  The two list are continuing to converge and overlap as PBR continues to grow state-by-state, providing grass-roots, “boots-on-the-ground” coverage.

In working to develop the PBR Draft 100, Rode works with each director in PBR, including our staff here in North Carolina.  He is in attendance evaluating top players at several key events from coast to coast.  Rode will also work to verify information with scouts and scouting directors from every Major League team.

North Carolina was represented in the PBR Draft 100 by two North Carolina players.  Owen White (RHP, Carson HS) and Jordyn Adams (OF, Green Hope HS) have positioned themselves as potential draft picks in the 2018 class.  White is a developing RHP with an advanced slider.  Adams, a dual sport athlete, is an exceptional athlete with a good combination of strength and speed.

North Carolina is a heavily scrutinized state by MLB Scouts.  Each year the Tarheel state ranks near the top in total draft picks from both the high school and college ranks.  2018 should be no different and there are several players that will be looking to make their way into the PBR Draft 100 in the coming months.

Today we look at a couple of players that could play their way into the PBR Draft 100.
