Region X Fall Tournament
September 29, 2021
PBR was at the 2021 Region X Fall Tournament, hosted at Campbell University’s Jim Patterson Stadium. The event featured 10 schools, each going through a small workout and playing two 7 inning scrimmages. Throughout the weekend, each program used the opportunity in front of college coaches, pro scouts, and PBR to showcase their roster in different ways. The weekend showcased the depth of talent in Region X and acted as a potential preview of the spring 2022 season.
Below are some program and player notes. PBR had multiple scouts in attendance, watching each team’s BP and sixties, as well as their infield/outfield and game play. PBR will continue our coverage of Region X with multiple Team Scout Day coming in October, as well as coverage of the spring season.
The Dolphins are still early in their fall development phase and they have been hampered with some issues, working to get on the field consistently. Throughout their two games, pitchers worked 1-2 innings, giving scouts a look at several arms on the roster. The Dolphins will be led on the bump by SO RHP Ethan Haislip. Haislip peaked at 92 with a downer breaking ball at 75-76. Two other arms to follow are Case Stoup, SO LHP, and Ried Dittner, rSO RHP. Both have large frames and strong arms.
