Earlier this month we began a series of stories entitled "Spring Forward" where we highlight some of the top players, programs, and conferences across a variety of categories for the upcoming 2020 season.

Today our Spring Forward series takes a look at some of the top right-handed pitchers you won't want to miss toe the rubber in 2020.

RIGHT-HANDERS TO WATCH IN 2020

SAM BATIS RHP / 3B / CLARKSBURG HS, MD / 2021

Batis is another big time junior arm you won’t want to miss in Montgomery County this season. The power throwing righty continues to develop and will anchor a Clarksburg staff in 2020 that features a very talented roster. Batis recorded 53 strikeouts in just 31.2 innings of work last year and will look to build upon that as the Coyotes hope to make another strong playoff run coming up just shy of a State Semifinal appearance in 2019 losing to Walt Whitman in the 4A West Regional Championship.

NATE BEAL RHP / SS / LOYOLA BLAKEFIELD, MD / 2020

Loyola Blakefield will lean heavily on the arm of Nate Beal as the ace of the staff in 2020 following the graduation of University of Virginia commit Matthew Wyatt. Beal is committed to play at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall but looks forward to the challenge of leading the Dons on the mound this spring. Last season, Beal recorded 52 strikeouts and finished with a 3.20 ERA. The senior righty features a mid-to-upper 80’s fastball with a swing-and-miss breaking ball.
