By Andy Sroka

On Sunday, Feb. 6, Prep Baseball Report will host the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 25 first-round picks and 26 second-rounders.

We've started our march toward the Super 60 by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school careers, leading them to this point, vying for the attention of the pro scouting community.

Scouting Report

10/28/21

The reigning Northern Nevada Player of the Year has seen his stock continue to rise over the past year with his projected tools becoming present tools that were put on display at the PBR Nevada ProCase. His day started off with a new personal best, 6.80 Laser Timed 60, then jumping straight into his batting practice session where he registered a Top Exit Velocity of 99.6 mph via TrackMan with an Average Exit Velocity of 90.26 mph, proving his ability to not only hit for power, but to consistently find the barrel. Following his offensive showing, he earned an event best Outfield Velocity of 94 mph that also translated to his ability on the mound. The Oregon commit is projected to be a two-way option for the Ducks with obvious tools on the position player side as well as an ability to command his three pitch mix on the mound, running it up to 88.17 mph during his single inning of work. His long, loose arm action, throwing on a closed front side helps him hide his pitches well striking out two while inducing weak contact from the remaining three hitters. Similar to Northern Nevada prospect, Jace Avina, from last year's PBR Nevada ProCase, we would not be the least bit surprised to see Grinsell selected in the 2022 MLB Draft.
