KANSAS CITY, KS—Our final day in Kansas didn’t go smoothly, but it was quite the finale. We double dipped and got the state’s top two prospects in RHP Riley Pint (St. Thomas Aquinas HS, KS) and LHP Joey Wentz (Shawnee Mission East HS, KS). About 75 scouts were also in attendance including several crosscheckers, scouting directors, special assignment scouts and at least one general manager. Like us, they all probably planned to get a few innings of Pint before leaving for Wentz, but things got off to a rough start. The area got a lot of rain on Monday and just before the game, both teams noticed there were some really soft spots on the field. There was nearly an hour delay as the grounds crew had to come in and do some field maintenance.
