The Franklin County Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first courtesy of a Jared Wright two run blast out of left center field. That would be all the runs they would need to shut out what has been a very strong Lord Botetourt offense so far this spring. Preston Crowl, who added two RBI's on a double in the fifth, threw five shutout innings before handing it over to fellow right hander Riley Hill. Crowl allowed five hits, mostly singles, that were scattered throughout his outing and struck out six along the way. Hill came on in relief in a clean sixth inning and allowed two hits while striking out two and getting a big double play in the sixth to maintain the shutout. Franklin County won 5-0 over previously unbeaten Lord Botetourt.

Now for some notes and video on five players, including a 2023 arm and a SEC commit.
