Preseason All State I Player Evals: 2023 & 2024 Position Players

Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-8, 140-pounds. Quickness present in a young frame with room for maturation ahead.
Defense:  Plays through the ball, relaxed hands, catches the ball in front of his left foot, longer exchange creating momentum into his throws.
Arm: R. OF - 81 mph. Accurate, long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Open base, hands at back shoulder. Small leg kick, average stride to even.  Hands have quickness, uphill swing path, stays on back leg at times, middle of the field approach with feel for his barrel.
Power: 88 exit velocity.  Average to above bat speed.
Run: 7.07 runner in the 60. 

Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Strong, athletic build.
Defense:  Relaxed, feet work around the ball, catches the ball near center, hands have softness, clean transitions.
Arm: R. INF - 75 mph. Accurate, some carry, short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Balanced, even base, barrel flat over back shoulder. Small leg lift, short stride, hands load back.  Quick, strong hands, short to ball, stays connected, barrel stays through ball with some lift out front, gap to gap approach with feel for his barrel.
Power: 90 exit velocity.  Has pop to the left center gap, better than average bat speed.
Run: 7.57 runner in the 60. 

Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-10, 140-pounds. Thin, young frame, room for maturation ahead.
Defense: Solid action, feel for body control play, hands have softness, catches the ball near center, quick, clean exchanges.
Arm: R. INF - 74 mph.Accurate, short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Upright, even base, hands above back shoulder. Loads down into legs, short stride, hands set to attack.  Quick hands, compact, short to ball, lift to the barrel path, works middle and to his pull side with barrel awareness.
Power: 87 exit velocity. Lined several balls to the left center gap, average to above bat speed.

Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Athletic build, quickness present.
Defense: 2.01-2.07 pop times. IF-Quick and athletic, can play on the run, soft hands, quick, clean exchanges. C-Quick feet, quick, clean transfers across his midsection, average to above hands receiving.
Arm: R. C - 75 mph. INF - 78 mph.  IF-Accurate with some carry, feel for different arm angles. C-Accurate, short arm action, over the top slot.
Hit: S. RH-Open base, hands at back shoulder. Short stride to even, hands load back. LH-Open base, hands at back shoulder. Small hand load back, short stride to even.  RH-Balanced, quick hands, direct barrel path, uses the whole field with feel for his barrel. LH-Balanced and loose, hands have quickness, barrel stays through the zone, gets extension out front, works middle and to his pull side, better than average barrel feel.

Arm: R. C - 78 mph. OF - 85 mph. OF-Long arm action, high 3/4 slot, some accuracy and carry. C-Accurate, short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Balanced, even base, hands at back shoulder. Hands load up and back, short stride.  Hands have quickness, back leg drives through swing, lift to the barrel path, gets extension out front, works middle and to his pull side with lots of balls off the barrel.

Defense: Quick feet, catches the ball near center, better than average hands, clean transfers.

Hit: R. Even base, more weight on the back leg, hands at back shoulder, more upright barrel. Short stride, quiet hands.  Balanced, quick hands, barrel works mostly level through the zone, middle of the field approach.

Body: 6-0, 225-pounds. Strength present in a large frame.
Defense: Relaxed, has body control, plays light on his feet, hands have softness, clean transfers.
Arm: R. INF - 82 mph. Accurate, medium arm stroke, high 3/4, slot.
Hit: R. Balanced, slightly open base, barrel flat over back shoulder. Loads toe to toe, average stride, hands load slightly down, barrel goes vertical.  Quick, strong hands, uphill leverage in the swing, barrel stays through the ball, lots of barrels working through the middle of the field.
Power: 99 exit velocity. Power present, lots of hard contact in BP, above average bat speed.

Body: 6-1, 205-pounds. Large frame, strength present.
Defense:  Active feet, hands have softness, has feel around the first base bag with the flexibility to stretch out and pick dirt balls.
Arm: R. INF - 73 mph.  Accurate, long arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Relaxed, slightly open base, hands at back shoulder. Small leg kick, short stride to even, hands set to attack.  Quick hands, short to the ball, barrel stays through, some lift out front, has barrel feel with the ability to use the whole field.

Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Strong, athletic build with quickness present.
Defense: Advanced defender, hands and feet work in sync, can play on the run and get the ball out quick, soft hands, easy transitions.
Arm: R. INF - 88 mph. Accurate with carry, feel for different arm angles.
Hit: L. Relaxed, even base, hands just above back shoulder. Quiet, smooth load, short stride, hands go slightly back.  Loose and balanced, short to ball, keeps his barrel through the zone, gets extension out front with a one hand finish, plenty of barrel feel lining balls to both gaps.
Power: 93 exit velocity. Lots of barrels with strength to both gaps, above average bat speed.

Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Strong, athletic frame with broad shoulders and room for growth ahead.
Defense: Solid actions, has trust in his soft hands catching the ball out front with bend to his hips, clean exchanges near his chest.
Arm: R. INF - 81 mph.. Accurate, medium arm stroke, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Relaxed and balanced, even base shoulder width, hands at back shoulder. Smooth load, small leg lift, short stride, hands load back.  Swing has looseness, hands are strong and quick, short path to the ball, keeps his barrel through the zone, gets extension through the middle of the field, plenty of barrel feel with a line drive approach, can drive the opposite field gap.
Power: 95 exit velocity. Stays controlled and can drive the ball to both gaps, above average bat speed.

Defense:  Plays through the ball, uses a two-hand catch off his left foot, clean exchanges.
Arm: R. OF - 73 mph. Medium arm stroke, high 3/4 slot, some accuracy.
Hit: L. Even base, more weight on the back leg, barrel flat over back shoulder. Short stride, hands load slightly back.  Flat swing, barrel stays inside the ball and through the zone, middle of the field approach lining several balls to the opposite field gap, above average barrel feel.
Power: 83 exit velocity.  Average to above bat speed.
Run: 8.42 runner in the 60. 

Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Quickness present in an athletic frame with room to add strength.
Defense: Athletic, feet work around the ball, catches the ball left of center, average to above hands, clean exchanges.
Arm: R. INF - 83 mph. Accurate with some carry, shorter arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: L. Balanced, even base, hands at back shoulder. Weight shifts back, no stride, hands cock back.  Balanced, quick hands, barrel stays through the zone, gets extension out front, works through the middle of the field with feel for his barrel.

Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Lanky frame, room to fill out.
Defense: 2.11-2.25 pop times. Fluid feet, quick clean transfers across his chest, relaxed receiving with looseness to his hips, above average hands.
Arm: R. C - 74 mph. Loose arm, accurate, short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: R. Balanced, slightly open base, hands at back shoulder. Toe tap, short stride to even, quiet hands.  Loose hands, short path staying inside the ball, flat barrel path through the zone, gets extension out front, has barrel feel with the ability to use the whole field.

Defense:  Active feet, better than average hands, catches the ball in the center of his body, high hips at times, clean transfers.
Arm: R.  INF - 76 mph. Accurate, short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Hit: L. Balanced and relaxed, even base, barrel flat over back shoulder. Short stride, hands go slightly back, barrel lifts off shoulder.  Loose swing, quick hands, short to ball, barrel stays through the zone, hit a ton of balls off the barrel working through the middle and to his pull side.
Power: 89 exit velocity.  Above average bat speed, has strength off the barrel.
Run: 7.5 runner in the 60. 

Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-9, 185-pounds. Strong, sturdy build.
Defense: 2.16-2.37 pop times. Feet get in line to target, clean transfers across his chest, average to above hands receiving.
Arm: R. C - 71 mph. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot, some feel for the second base bag.
Hit: R. Even base, feet shoulder width, hands at back shoulder. Small leg lift, short stride, small hand load.  Hands have strength, short to the ball, some lift to the barrel path, balanced approach working through the middle of the field.
