East Tennessee State commit for football hit a no doubt laser out to right center.  6’3, 220-pounder w/ physical, mature frame w/ present strength.  Tight end at the collegiate level for football team.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, very slightly crouched stance w/ bat waggle into toe tap and proper load.  All fields approach w/ home run power to all fields w/ feel for back-spin.  Repeats.  Big power bat.  Defensively, moves well at both corners on the infield, was not tested in game.

Jacob Balsley SS / Bearden, TN / 2020

SS showed intriguing athletic skillset.  6’0, 150-pounder w/ lean, athletic frame w/ projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into short leg kick and proper load.  Gap to gap approach w/ feel for back-spin.  Laced a triple to right center, where he showed off his above average running speed underway.  Projectable pull power.  Defensively, made all the plays at SS w/ arm strength w/ carry to target.  Above average glove w/ solid feet.

John Beam OF / LHP / Bearden, TN / 2020

OF showed interesting bat to go w/ bloodlines.  6’1, 180-pounder w/ medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, projection.  Hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance into hard toe tap, proper load.  All fields approach w/ present gap power, projectable pull power.  Defensively, profiles in a corner OF spot w/ projectable arm strength.

Spencer Glover OF / LHP / Bearden, TN / 2018

Uncommitted OF showed plus running speed w/ pull power.  6’0, 175-pounder w/ medium, athletic frame, present lower half strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and load.  Whippy bat speed w/ natural loft.  Pull oriented approach w/ pull power.  Plus runner reaches top speed quickly, ran a 4.19 on a groundout to second base.  Speed to play CF w/ developing arm strength.  

Ross McKenry C / 3B / Bearden, TN / 2018

Uncommitted C generated bat speed through the zone.  6’0, 185-pounder w/ prototypical catcher frame, physical lower half, some projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into load and leg kick.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ loft.  Some timing struggles on this day, let the ball get too deep, but ball jumps off the bat.  Pull oriented approach w/ pull power.  Defensively, features soft hands w/ good target, feel for pitch framing.  Features arm strength w/ carry to target w/ solid feet.  

Bryson Trammell 3B / OF / Bearden, TN / 2021

Corner infielder has all the tools you look for in a young position player.  6’2, 175-pounder w/ present strength, projection.  Offensively, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and proper load.  Pull oriented approach w/ bat speed through the zone.  Patient approach w/ spin recognition.  Projectable all fields power.  Defensively, features soft hands w/ projectable above average arm strength.  Good looking young player w/ bloodlines.

Young righty touched 82 w/ projectable frame, quick arm.  6’0, 170-pounder w/ projectable, athletic frame.  Pitches from a full wind-up w/ H ¾ release.  FB showed arm-side run.  Medium downer CB froze the only hitter he threw it to.  Firm, developing CH w/ arm-speed.  Around the zone, projects to command.  Struck out the side in his 1 inning of work.

Carson Matthews RHP / Bearden, TN / 2018

Walters State commit features quick arm w/ feel for spin.  6’2 ,185-pounder w/ medium, athletic frame.  Lot of physical projection.  Pitches from full wind-up w/ H ¾ release.  Straight FB flashes life.  Big downer CB w/ above average depth, proper rotation.  Firm CH w/ arm-speed.  Around the zone, flashes ability to pitch w/ intent. 

Tyler Meyers 3B / RHP / Bearden, TN / 2019

FB (78-80, T81), CB (66-70)

RHP struck out the side in his 1 inning of work.  Short, athletic frame w/ present lower half strength, some physical projection.  Same delivery and release point we saw in January.  Straight FB w/ occasional arm-side run.  Medium downer CB w/ proper rotation/shape, late bite at times.  Around the zone, pitched down in the zone well on this day.

Cole Poynter LHP / Bearden, TN / 2019

FB (76-78, T79), CB (62-64)

Low slot LHP flashed swing and miss stuff when he was pitching ahead.  6-0, 160-pounder shows medium, athletic frame w/ lean strength, projection.  Pitched from a full wind-up w/ low ¾ release across his body.  FB shows arm-side run.  Medium downer CB w/ proper shape, occasionally loopy.  Sprayed the zone on this day, projects to control.  Picked off one runner, should have picked off a second, varies timing of move.

Matt Grim OF / LHP / Powell, TN / 2019

OF shows bat-speed w/ pull power.  Medium, athletic frame w/ lean strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance into short stride and load.  Repeats same swing w/ efficient movements.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ natural loft.  Surprising pull power for frame.   Pull oriented approach.  Athletic w/ arm strength w/ carry to target.  Was not tested in CF.    

Mason King 2B / Powell, TN / 2019

2B shows offensive potential.  Medium, athletic frame w/ lean strength.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ bat waggle into leg kick w/ proper load.  Pull oriented approach w/ pull power.  Uses lower half well in swing.  Gets the ball out front w/ occasional balance.  Was not tested defensively.

Parker Stinnett 3B / RHP / Powell, TN / 2018

Uncommitted athletic 3B shows 2-way potential.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, lot of physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a crouched, straight on stance w/ hand rhythm into leg kick and short hand load.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ loft.  Patient approach, understands his zone, rarely expands.  Above average runner glides underway, ran a 4.25 to beat out an infield single.  Hustler, hit a pop up to the pitcher, but sprinted to end up on 2B when it fell.  Was not tested defensively at 3B. 

Colton Reynolds LHP / 1B / Powell, TN / 2021

FB (74-78, T79), CB (61), CH (77)

Freshman shows the ideal starter pack for a lefty.  Tall, athletic frame oozing projection w/ some present strength.  Pitches from a full wind-up w/ low effort, quick arm into H ¾ release.  FB shows short arm-side run.  Proper shape on CB w/ depth.  CH w/ arm-speed, late sink, flashes as swing and miss pitch.  Strike-thrower flashes ability to pitch w/ intent, advanced for his age.   

Parker Stinnett 3B / RHP / Powell, TN / 2018

FB (80-86), CB (66-72)

Uncommitted RHP showed intriguing 2 pitch mix w/ arm-speed.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, lot of physical projection.  Pitches from a full wind-up w/ H ¾ release and quick arm.  FB flashed arm-side run early in the outing, straightened out deeper into the outing.  Showed ability to manipulate shape on CB, working as a short downer late in the count, loopier as a get me over pitch.  Around the zone, projects to command.    

Walker Trusley RHP / 3B / Powell, TN / 2020

FB (81-84, T85), CB (69-72)

Righty showed quick arm w/ projectable fastball.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, projectable.  Pitches from a full wind-up w/ H ¾ release.  Quick arm w/ repeatable delivery.  Straight FB flashed occasional arm-side run.  Medium downer CB shows proper shape/rotation.  Around the zone, more control than command at this stage.  Struck out the side in his 1 inning of work.
