The PBR Tennessee Fall Top Prospect Games took place on Saturday, November 1, and Brent Richey certainly delivered a standout performance.

At 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, Richey is strong and athletic with the potential to continue to fill in his frame, and he showed legitimate two-way ability at the event.

Richey hits from a balanced stance with a toe tap trigger and displays good utilization of his lower half.  He generates good bat speed through the zone as evidenced by his 85 mph exit velocity off the tee, and after an impressive round of batting practice that included a barrage of line drives to all fields, went 1-for-4 in game play that included a couple of hard outs.  Richey runs well for a potential corner outfielder at the next level as he posted a 4.52 home to first base time.  Defensively, he showed the top outfield arm strength of the event at 87 mph with good carry.

On the mound, Richey showed an 81-84 mph fastball that topped at 85. The fastball shows some occasional natural cutting action, and his 71-74 mph breaking ball displayed tight spin with slider-type action.  He showed good command of both pitches as hitters had a difficult time barreling the baseball against him.  Richey allowed just one hit and struck out three of the nine hitters he faced in game action.  His arm works cleanly and there could certainly be more velocity in the tank for him.
