Trey Hinton, RHP, Christian Academy of Knoxville, 2016

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed pitching prospect shows next level potential.  With an athletic frame, he showed why he's a player to follow with his performance at the Fall Top Prospect Games Event at Lipscomb University on November 1.

Hinton uses long arm action through over the top arm slot. He challenges hitters with a 77-80 mph fastball that topped out at 82 with good arm side run.  He can throw consistent strikes with his curveball that sat at 66-70 mph with 12/6 movement and features an easy delivery with repeatable mechanics. He finished his two inning outing giving up two singles and recording two strikeouts.

We have received reports of Hinton showing a little more velocity than he did on this occasion, and we look forward to the next opportunity to see him.  His combination of command and willingness to go at hitters that should translate into serious looks for him at the next level.
