Ethan Cady, 1B/LHP, McCallie HS, 2016

Cady is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound 1B/LHP who shows two-way ability using his size and power at both positions.

At the plate the left-handed hitter hits from a slightly crouched, spread stance, and generates good hip torquein his swing.  He creates some lift with good extension through the zone in showing middle-of-the-lineup power potential to all fields.  Cady recorded an exit velocity off the tee at 84 mph.

Defensively, Cady shows good, athletic feet around the bag and sure hands at the first base position.  His throws across the infield registered at 78 mph.

On the mound Cady's fastball registered 80-84 mph with good arm side run. His curveball shows to be an advanced pitch with sharp 12/6 movement and hard, late action that varied between 68-75 mph.  At the Fall Top Prospect Games event, Cady worked two hitless innings while recording two strikeouts.

Cady, who recently debuted at No. 17 the Tennessee Class of 2017 rankings, should make a strong contribution to the McCallie program this spring.
