TEXAS - Over the weekend of November, 2 - November, 3, we hosted the Underclass State Games at Texas A&M University where we saw some of the top 2027 & 2028 players in the State. The weekend kicked off on Saturday morning with a workout for position players. They ran 60's, threw from defensive positions, and ended the workout with BP on the field. Saturday afternoon and Sunday consisted of gameplay where the pitchers had their TrackMan data recorded. This event featured a strong group of players from top to bottom and that showed throughout the entire weekend. Today, we take a look at the scouting reports from each outfielder in attendance as well as rank the top 5 from the weekend.

Positional Profile: OF/1B LHH/OF…good build frame to add needed strength in future. Athleticism present. Solid runner now, expecting speed to continue to increase. Solid defender with chance to play CF at next level. Solid bat/power combo in future. Bullish on raw power developing. Will fun player to watch develop. Body: 6-3, 188-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Some width to shoulders and back. Projects to have good build. Hit: LHH. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Rotational back foot, nice job of getting fully turned. Back foot slides away slightly with swing, would like to see drive forward towards pitcher with understanding back foot can slide away for balance on balls on outer 1/2. Hands/barrel start in solid position to hit. With stride, back elbow raises creating barrel tip over bill of helmet creating length to swing. Work to soften back elbow, also work to get barrel more behind head shortening path to zone. Nice job of getting on plane creating line drive contact now. 68.3 mph bat speed with 4 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 85.5 mph. 338' max distance. Solid bat/power combo in future. Expecting hard contact consistency to improve with hit approach adjustments and added strength in future. Arm: LH. OF-85 mph. Arm works well in OF, will gain arm speed as he matures and gains strength. Long toss program would be helpful as well. Defense: Moves well to baseball. Nice job of breaking down to field, moves thru ball well. Solid avg defender in future with chance to exceed. ATH: 6.85 runner in the 60. 1.69 and 3.87 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Bat speed present with developing bat strength. Exciting, young player. Body: 5-10, 171-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Lower showing some now strength, projects to have good build. Hit: RHH. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Rotational back foot, occasionally gets stuck, must firm ability to rotate back foot. Good job of using lower 1/2 in swing, back foot pushes into ground on ball of foot and drives hip forward. Solid posture in swing. Barrel/hands start in solid position, late hand cock creates timing issue, inconsistent launch position due to late hand load. Hand load early for consistency to launch spot. Swing works well, barrel/hands take good path to zone. Bat/hand speed present. 73.6 mph bat speed with 24 G's of rotational acceleration. Positional Profile: OF RHH/OF with tools. Good build/frame to add strength. Plus runner future. Solid defender, will have arm strength to play all 3 OF spots. Love the upside to bat/power combo in future. Fun to watch him develop in future. Body: 6-2, 181-pounds. Great build/frame to add strength. Will have good build in future with physical maturity and added strength. Hit: RHH. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Shows linear movement to back foot, nice job of driving forward, back foot gets stuck never getting completely rotated. Will benefit rotational acceleration and ability to impact baseball getting fully rotated. Good posture hitting. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Scoop swing, would like to see more direct path into hitting zone with both hands/barrel creating more line drive contact. 66.6 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 80.6 mph. 347' max distance. Opportunities for adjustments present. Love the upside to bat/power in future. Betting on the work ethic and ability to make adjustments. Arm: RH. OF-88 mph. Arm works well, arm speed present. Will have better than avg arm in future. Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHP…athletic with good delivery. Easy arm action, velo will come. Strike thrower. Works zone with FB. Short breaking CB, will firm. Change is developing. Like the upside on the mound, love the strikes and being around plate with stuff. LHH/OF…will add needed strength in future. Athleticism present. Defensively will be solid defender with chance to stay in CF with speed increasing. Solid bat/power combo in future, hit over power. Opportunities for adjustments present. Body: 5-9, 163-pounds. Good build/frame to added needed strength. Lower showing some strength now. Projects for good build with strength. Hit: LHH. Loads into back leg well with toe tap stride, lands in good position to hit. Rotational back foot, gets stuck, inconsistent getting fully rotated. Doesn't drive back foot forward, slides slightly away from plate. Develop ability to get foot fully rotated, drive back foot forward. Would like to see posture improve at point of contract, driving back side into firm front leg, looking to stay upright. Body tilts over left hip in swing. Barrel tip with high back elbow creates length to swing and uphill path. Soften back elbow in set up, work to limit movement of barrel tip with stride, ideally would like to see barrel located somewhere near back of head. Positional Profile: C/OF LHH/OF…will add strength. Solid defender in OF, good mover, aggressive moving to baseball. Arm strength will improve. Solid approach to hit, swing adjustment opportunities present. Hit over power in future. Body: 5-10, 181-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength, will have quality build when fully mature. Lower 1/2 has showing strength now. Hit: LHH. Wide stance, short stride, lands in solid position to hit. Rotational back foot that gets stuck at times and slides away from plate. Would like to see firming of back foot use, getting rotated and maximizing effectiveness of lower 1/2. Solid posture in swing. Hands/barrel in good launch position, hands take good path to baseball. Lift in swing with pull approach. Would like to see developing more of on plane swing working for line drives. Hit over power. Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 76.4 mph. 294' max distance. Overall solid approach to hit, opportunities for adjustments with swing. Hit over power in future. Upside to hit/avg. Arm: RH. OF-86 mph. Arm works, arm speed and raw arm strength can improve, doesn't consistently close lead hip to throw costing arm speed/strength. Can improve with long toss program. Defense: Aggressive OF, attacks baseball, does a nice job of breaking down to field. Solid defender in OF. ATH: 7.19 runner in the 60. 1.89 and 4.12 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Projects to have good build. Hit: RHH. Lands in good position to hit. Rotational back foot that slides away from plate with swing. Rotate shoelaces to pitcher and drive forward into firm front side. Hands/barrel in good launch position. Length to swing, cast barrel around instead of taking direct path to baseball. Lacks extension thru baseball, pull swing. Let baseball travel, drive thru baseball. 63.5 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 74.2 mph. 270' max distance. Upside to bat/power combo. Opportunities for adjustments to both hit approach and swing. Arm: RH. OF-83 mph. Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHH/OF will add needed strength in future. Solid defender in OF. Nice approach in game play, showed some feel for barrel. Couple of opportunities for adjustments present. Strength is a big key in future development. Body: 5-9, 144-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Projects to have good build in future as he matures physically and adds strength. Hit: LHH. Lands in good position to hit after stride, Rotational back foot with slight linear movement forward getting toe of back foot. Rotational acceleration will improve with added strength physically and adding slight linear movement forward with back foot, emphasizing exploding back hip forward with slight linear move. Hands/barrel in solid position to launch. Minor length to swing, would like to see shortening swing to hitting zone. Bat/hand speed will increase with added strength in future. 67.4 mph bat speed with 6 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 74.9 mph. 302' max distance. Positional Profile: OF/3B RHP…just starting to develop on mound. Expect arm speed to increase in future. Will throw harder. CB will tighten with added velo. Like the change action, hinders effectiveness with slowing arm. Big upside on mound, needs time to develop. RHH/OF…will add strength in future. Love the upside to this 2028 grad. Couple of minor adjustments to start at plate…excited to watch him develop over the next couple of years. Body: 6-5, 239-pounds. Good/build frame to add needed strength. Projects to be big, strong physical person in future. Hit: RHH. Upright stance, lands in good position to hit. Rotational back foot, spins, never drives forward. Would like to see back foot rotate and drive forward maximizing lower 1/2 use and drive back hip forward increasing rotational acceleration, helping impact the baseball. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Length to swing. Shorten swing, hands cast out creating length. 69 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 87.7 mph. 315' max distance. Opportunities for adjustments present. Love the upside to bat/power grades. Keep working. Arm: RH. OF-86 mph. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Rotational back foot that gets stuck in rotation, inconsistent getting fully turned. Foot slides away from plate losing effectiveness of lower 1/2. Work to get foot fully rotated and develop linear movement forward increasing lower 1/2 use and ability to impact baseball. Lays back body slightly at point of contact creating uphill path, hit into firm front leg, working to get more upright in swing. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHS with upside. Love the stuff seen. Solid delivery and arm action. Expect FB to increase, easy arm action, around zone with pitch ability with FB. Slider has good spin, shows feel for pitch, will be solid in future. Change with action/deception. Will be fun to watch develop…feel to pitch with developing stuff. LHH/OF..will add strength in futrue, athleticism present. Solid defender in future. Hit adjustment opportunities, hit over power with BA chance to exceed. Body: 5-9, 139-pounds. Lean with good frame to add needed strength in future. Projects to have good build. Hit: LHH. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Rotational back foot that gets stuck in rotation, work to get foot turned consistently. Shows some linear movement at times, like the movement, recommend working to master move. Hit into firm front side driving back foot/hip forward. Hands/barrel in solid launch position. Expect bat/hand speed to increase with added strength in future. Swing works fine, pull conscious, would love to see developing more all field approach. 65.6 mph bat speed with 17 G's of rotational acceleration. Positional Profile: LHP/OF LHH/OF…will add strength in future, opportunities for adjustments at plate, hit over power. Steady defensive player. LHP… showing feel to pitch. Around zone with stuff. Solid delivery and arm action. FB will be effective as he learns to use entire zone with pitch. CB is developing pitch, quality future. Change has deception and action, plus pitch in future. Body: 5-10, 155-pounds. Good physical build/frame to add needed strength. Hit: LHH. Lands in good position to hit after knee lift stride. Inconsistent back foot, doesn't get fully rotated at all times, gets stuck. Back foot shows both rotational movement and linear movement. For me, I like the linear move he showed with the back foot and resulting use of lower 1/2 and improved rotation acceleration. Hands/barrel in good launch position. Slight push back with hands creates some length to swing, excluding minor length. Nice path to contact zone with hands/barrel. 60.9 mph bat speed with 5 G's of rotational acceleration. Positional Profile: LHP/1B LHH/INF-OF with really good build to add needed strength. Upside. Raw tools present, needs to go to work and firm tools/abilities. Will be fun to watch make adjustments and develop over next couple of years. Body: 6-4, 193-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Projects to be big, strong kid with physical maturity and added strength. Hit: LHH. Short stride, lands in nice position to hit. Rotational back foot, works okay, gets stuck at times or late getting rotated, when on time…nice job of using lower 1/2. Front side pulls off, work to stay closed. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Front shoulder pulls off, creates lead arm bar. Lacks ability to control barrel, non adjustable pull swing. Timing in games is an issue. Work to keep front side/shoulder closed allowing adjustability and extension to swing. Bat/hand speed present. 73.8 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 73.5 mph. 284' max distance. Betting on adjustments with bat/power grades, could be lite if he can make changes. Positional Profile: RHP/OF Young RHP with upside. Athletic, solid delivery and arm action. FB will develop both velocity and pitch ability. Secondary flashes quality, will develop. Around zone with stuff. Will be fun to watch develop over time. RHH/OF..will add strength in future. Athleticism present. Solid defender in future, expect run time to continue to improve. Opportunities for adjustments with hit approach and swing present. Upside to bat/power combo with adjustments. Body: 6-2, 184-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength. Love to upside physically in future. Hit: RHH. Toe tap stride, lands in good position to hit. Front shoulder fly's open early. Rotational back foot, spins, no drive forward. Work to drive back foot/hip forward into firm front side. Upper torso leans slightly forward at contact, work to develop upright posture thru swing. Hands/barrel start in good position. Barrel work around shoulder, would like to see direct path to hitting zone with hands. Lead arm bar, soften lead arm, this will help hands work in zone, also will help eliminate front shoulder pulling off/opening early. 68.4 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration. Defense: Nice job of moving to baseball, setting feet to field. When throwing takes extra steps setting to throw along with behind crow hops, this kills momentum throwing. Footwork will improve. Positional Profile: OF/LHP LHP…exiting young LHP showing arm quickness. Athletic delivery. FB will continue to develop with pitch ability and adding velo in future. Shows he can spin breaking ball. Love the upside, needs time to develop. LHH/OF…will add needed strength, athleticism present. Will be solid defender in future, moves well to baseball. Like the future bat/power combo with adjustments. Chance to develop into one of the better 2028 grads. Body: 5-10, 149-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength in future. Nice upside physically. Hit: LHH. Toe tap stride, lands in good position to hit. Back foot gets rotated, shows developing linear movement to back foot. Work to get back foot driving forward with linear movement, presently slides foot away from home plate limiting lower 1/2 use. Foot can slide away on pitches away for balance. Hands/barrel start in solid position, shows barrel tip movement creating vertical launch with barrel tip lengthening swing. Work to eliminate or lessen barrel tip movement. Develop shorter path to hit zone with hands and barrel. Bat/hand speed along with bat strength will all develop in future with strength and physical maturity. 67.7 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration. Body: 5-10, 158-pounds. Good build/frame, will have solid build in future with needed added strength. Hit: LHH. Solid approach to hit. Lands in good position to hit after stride. Nice balance present with good posture. Rotational back foot with slight linear movement present, inconsistent getting back foot rotated. Needs develop consistent rotation for back foot to effectively use lower 1/2 in swing. Hands/barrel in solid launch position. Some length to swing with slight uphill path, pull swing. Recommend taking more direct path to zone with barrel, work for more line drive approach, use all fields. 65.5 mph bat speed with 23 G's of rotational acceleration. Rotational back foot, falls back with body. Hit driving into firm front leg maintaining upright posture. Barrel/hands start in decent position, would recommend working barrel more behind head, shortening path to baseball. Long swing presently, scoop swing with barrel dump. Shorten path to baseball, control barrel on pitches away. Upside to hit ability with shorter path. 69.4 mph bat speed with 15 G's of rotational acceleration. Positional Profile: RHP/OF RHS…Arm quickness present. Next level after HS will pitch from pen. Some effort present. FB velo will improve, life present, carry up. Effective FB when in zone. CB has spin, flashes solid finish. CB ahead of slider. Did not see change. More of thrower than pitcher presently. RHH/OF…will add needed strength. Moves well, shows athleticism.
