Top Performers

2019 SS/RHP Dax Dathe (Stony Point HS) is a coveted recruit for the University of Houston Cougars. At 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Dathe had the best all around day for the Canes, and will be moving up the 2019 Rankings. The right-handed hitter has easy rhythm from an open stance, and creates natural lift with gap power (88 mph) that should continue to progress at the next level. After running a 6.68, the shorstop showed off smooth actions, soft hands, and the ability to make all the throws necessary to play on the left side. On the mound, the right-hander topped out at 89 several times, sitting 87-88. Slider has tight spin with sharp 10/4 break at 71-73. Mixed in a curveball with more 11/5 downer shape at 68-69.

Although his slider was inconsistent, it did come in at 74-76 mph with mostly lateral shape.
