CHURCHILL 6 - MACARTHUR 5

The Churchill Chargers and MacArthur Brahmas met on an overcast evening for the conclusion of the first half of district-play for both teams. It was a back-and-forth contest, both teams putting up double-digit numbers in the hit column, as well as making some big inning-ending defensive moves to prevent blowout numbers on the board.

Churchill’s evening was highlighted by a three-hit performance by uncommitted junior OF/LHP Hudson Head, who also came in to the game to pitch the final 1.2 innings and earned the win. Senior 3B Kevin Fleisher (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) had two impressive plays resulting in bang-bang outs at first base. The Charger’s starting pitcher Landry Wideman (Texas A&M) went 5.1 innings.

MacArthur’s starting pitcher, senior RHP/INF Decatur Aycock (Northeastern Oklahoma State A&M College commit), went 5.1 innings and was 2-3 at the plate. The Brahma’s senior catcher, Jarod Maxson, went 3-4 on the evening with three singles, and senior Ethan Gottschalk (Texas A&M Corpus Christi), was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI.
