CYPRESS, TX - Cypress Woods HS vs. Cypress Creek HS competed in a evening game at Cypress Woods HS. The contest featured 2019 LHP Matt Santos (Cypress Creek), a Rice commit, and 2018 RHP Ryan Rusinovich (Cypress Woods).  

Cy Woods got on the board early with an RBI single off the bat of Jake Henley in the first. But that was the only run that Sanchez would allow. Cy Creek answered with a run in the fifth when Christian Diaz hit an RBI double. In the seventh Ben Wigginton drove in the winning run for Creek.

Both starters pitched well, but Santos, ranked No. 56 in TX, carried Cypress Creek, throwing a complete game, one-hitter with 13 strikeouts. For Cypress Woods, Rusinovich allowed only two runs on seven hits and one walk. Final Score: Cypress Woods 1, Cypress Creek 2.
