Cypress Ranch & Memorial

Toby Bicknell
Texas Scouting Director

HOUSTON, TX - It was a great weekend in Houston and we want to issue a special thank you to Coach York and his staff at Memorial High School for not only tarping the field multiple days, but also for the quick turnaround time between games on both Thursday and Friday. Here are a couple of standout performers from a loaded group of players on Friday.

Jared Alvarez-Lopez, C, Cypress Ranch HS, 2019
McNeese State commit. It goes without saying that Alvarez-Lopez was on fire this weekend as he was chosen as the Co-Hitter of the week after hitting five homers, four in about 24 hours, and 3 on Saturday. This guy is going to be moving up the Texas 2019 Rankings and is making a push for the top spot at his position. The athleticism behind the plate to go along with the pure arm strength, soft hands, and ability to handle an elite pitching staff set him apart from his peers. On Saturday, he hit two solo shots in his first two AB’s, one on a hanging curveball, the other on a fastball. In the second game of the double header he hit a three run shot off a LH CB to put the Mustangs up for good against Memorial in the 6th inning.
