Houston Area Code Tryouts: Pitchers

HOUSTON, TX - Here is a report on the arms that pitched in the game at the Houston Area Codes. All of these pitchers threw bullpens before the game, most of them in the indoor hitting facility. The report notes which place the velocities were taken.

 

Owen Meaney, RHP, Saint Thomas HS, 2018
LSU recruit. 6-foot-5, 230-pound, strong frame with broad shoulders. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot, his fastball was 91-92 mph during the game. He throws a 12-6 curveball with sharp downward action at 77 mph, his changeup has good arm side run at 78 mph.  

Marcelo Perez, RHP, Alexander HS, 2018
TCU recruit. 5-foot-11, 155-pound, lean, athletic frame. Perez works from a true-¾ slot with a quick, whip-like arm stroke. His fastball exploded on hitters at 90-91 mph in the game. He throws a swing-and-miss slider at 77-78 mph with 10-4 shape and good downward action to finish 

Bo Blessie, RHP, Midland Lee HS, 2018
Nebraska recruit. 6-foot-3, 160-pound, lean, projectable frame. The right-hander works from a ¾ slot with a long, easy arm stroke. His fastball was 89-91 mph in the game. His breaking ball has good tilt 77 mph (bullpen) and 81 mph (in the game).

Luke Trahan, RHP, College Park HS, 2018
DBU recruit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound, strong frame. The right-hander works from a high slot with a clean arm stroke. His fastball was 91-92 mph during the game. His curveball was 78 mph with good depth, he also has a cutter that tops out at 85 mph with late, glove side life.
