TEXAS- With the 2023 Overall Ranking being updated, it's time to take a deeper dive with a look at prospects ranked at the top of their position. Today we take a look at a solid class of athletic, Texas outfielders.

Claiming the No. 1 spot is Brayden Sharp. wiry athletic frame with a high waist, long loose arm on the mound with an athletic tempo and repeatable delivery. Sharp has an extremely high ceiling on the mound but also shows the ability to hold his own in the field. He doubles as an outfielder that runs a 6.98- 60 yard dash with a balanced setup in the box and some natural feel for the barrel. Sharp is just tapping into his potential and we look forward to seeing more jumps as he matures.

the No. 2 spot is held by Derrick Mitchell. Mitchell is a switch hitter and has proven to hit for average and power from both sides of the plate. He has a natural rhythm to his setup and swing, getting great extension through the baseball. He has not only shown the ability to handle spin coming back into him, but he has shown to drive it for power to the gaps. The Arizona Commit has a lean athletic frame that will continue to physically mature and only get better.

the No. 4 spot goes to Kendall George. We have seen him run an effortless 60 time of 6.39 at an event and also saw him score from second on a past ball in a game this season.  At the plate he has a quick bat with good extension through contact. He is a quick twitch athlete that has plenty of room for growth at the plate as he matures physically. 

Blake Peterson comes in at No. 5 for the '23 OF class. Peterson is an athletic outfielder that flat out hits every time we see him play. He has shown the ability to fight off tough pitches and find a way to single to RF as well as jump all over something he likes early in the count and drive it to all fields. There is plenty more to come with the bat as he continues to be more explosive and keeps developing.
