Dylan Golden 3B / RHP / Spring, TX / 2018

Golden is an aggressive two-way player that projects to play both corner infield and pitch at the next level. He has a powerful 6-foot, 208-pound frame, with a long, loose arm stroke that allowed him to run his fastball up to 90 mph at the beginning of the summer. The right-hander repeats a simple delivery while striding out longer than his 6-foot frame, allowing his fastball to play up even firmer. Golden has strong legs and broad shoulders, and delivers out of a high ¾ slot while creating a downward angle. His breaking ball features 11/5 action at 70-71, although I can see him switching to a harder cutter/slider in the future based on the fastball hand speed that he throws the pitch with. Golden’s strong arm will make him an interesting prospect to recruiters throughout the summer. Good athleticism for his size and position, Golden ran a 7.22 60-yard dash, and threw 87 mph across the diamond. A right-handed with pop, Golden posted an exit velocity of 90 mph off the tee. He has a balanced swing with simple strength and leverage. With his ability to play two positions, upside on the mound and at the plate, Golden would be an outstanding addition to a recruiting class.
